The score is engraved from a public-domain ABC notation maintained in John Chambers's archive at MIT. Roger Fernay's words are intentionally omitted (still in copyright until 2054). In the key of G minor, 2/4, with chord symbols above the staff — a fourth above the D minor of the Heugel edition below.

The Heugel piano-vocal edition, 1946

A scan of the Heugel 1946 piano-vocal edition — voice with French text, piano grand staff with bass clef accompaniment — is hosted externally by the Spanish open archive el-atril.com. Fernay's text is dated 1935; Heugel published the song in Paris in 1946, and the edition's own title page hedges the earlier year with a question mark:
